Pick up a Sport

You can’t help but notice the casual soccer matches playing in virtually every open field, but look again and you’ll find more to Singapore’s sporting scene. From ultimate frisbee to dragon-boating, touch football to rugby 7s, team sports are the perfect way to make new friends and keep fit. Check out your neighbourhood Community Centre for affordable and wide-ranging classes. You’ll also find many interest groups such as SGRunners online, making it easy to slip into a regular sporting schedule.

Facilities

The Singapore Sports Council aims to make sports accessible and affordable for everyone. Take advantage of the public facilities islandwide, which include 24 swimming complexes, 19 stadiums, 16 sports halls plus 75 school fields, among other amenities. Enjoy Singapore’s beaches with a run or in-line skates, engage in a friendly beach volleyball match, or head out windsurfing or wakeboarding. The East Coast Parkway is also home to an international-standard extreme skate park, which is free to the public.

Other Interests

You can get your kicks dirt biking or go-karting, and challenge yourself in a rock climbing contest or triathlon. Learn how to dive, or put a spring in your step with dancesport. You’re bound to find a sport you’ll love in Singapore.

Like to exercise with your eyes too? Get your pulse racing at top international events like the invitation-only Wakeboard World Cup, the Aviva Singapore Badminton Open and the famed Formula 1 Singtel Grand Prix night races. Catch favourite visiting English Premier League soccer teams play live on our own grounds or even get right in on the action as an event volunteer. Or just catch all the action on free-to-air TV.
