Nightlife

Singapore’s nightlife has a groove of its own.

Whether you like to party or chill out, in the heart of town or further afield, you’ll find the perfect spot. What’s more, you’ll find that this is one of the safest countries in the world to hang out late in, so feel free to let your hair down!

Clubbing

Party to a different beat every night, from hip-hop to cantopop, rock-and-roll to jazz, techno to salsa. The diversity of clubs in Singapore means you’ll never run out of options when it comes to partying.

Most establishments have a minimum entry age of 18, so be prepared to show some identification. There is usually a cover charge at dance clubs, which will include a drink or two, though most of these places, like dbl O, hold a Ladies’ Night with free entry and premium drinks for women.

Drink prices are fairly standard across the many clubs, at about SGD 5-6 for a beer and SGD 12 for a cocktail. Look out for one-for-one drink offers and happy hours for a better deal.

You can party on till three or four o’clock in the morning or even until five at some of the more happening spots. Among the best, with celebrity live acts and DJs, are internationally acclaimed Zouk, and St James Powerhouse. Zouk also organises the sizzling-hot Zoukout, the ultimate outdoor all-night dance party in the region.

Note that smoking is off-limits indoors except in designated areas.

Supper

Kill the post-party hunger pangs at any of the hundreds of eateries still open around the clock. Take your pick from 24-hour kopi-tiams, prata joints, and cafes.

Just Sleepless

Catch the latest movies at up to three o’clock in the morning at Cathay Orchard. Other cinemas screen their last shows up to midnight.

For the restless, there is always Mustafa Centre, that 24-hour shopping mall that has practically everything you imagine a store would sell.
