"The kids can be reserved but they are fun to teach. Once they are comfortable with you, you can have the same level of openness you had in your home country. It takes a little longer and a conscious effort on your part to draw them out; I think teachers considering Singapore would like to know that we take CCAs (Co-Curricular Activities) seriously. Back home, you take them in on a voluntary basis. But here, because they are part of your work, you get support from the school. If you are keen on a sport or another club, you can take it quite far.”
