Australia

After the US, UK and Europe, Singapore is the fourth most preferred destination for Australian professionals.

Our popularity can be attributed to our relative proximity to Australia and the abundance of opportunities for global talent.

Qualifications and Expertise

Australian professionals are highly sought after for their expertise in infocomm technology, engineering, business and management, R&D, and biotechnology. Their country has the most life science graduates per capita in the world – one in every 2,100 graduates.

Australia ’s 39 Institutes of Higher Learning offer broad-based curriculums. Courses which attract the highest enrolment and graduates are Business Administration and Economics, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Engineering. Singaporeans form the largest group in its overseas student population.

Recruitment Considerations

For Australians, work considerations go beyond salary and other monetary incentives. Many non-tangible factors play a big part in job selection, such as open communication, mutual respect, flexible working hours, and fair and transparent human resource policies.

When living overseas, Australians value quality of life. This makes Singapore an attractive option, with our excellent healthcare, transport, education and entertainment facilities, as well as a stable and safe environment. Australians are generally not opposed to adopting a foreign citizenship as they are allowed to retain their own under the Australian Federal Government’s dual citizenship policy.

You may approach Contact Singapore for partnership opportunities; we organise regular recruitment events in Australia in April and August. The recommended recruitment period is from March to late April, mid-August to early October.
